YANNIS LOBAINA SELF PORTRAIT » GROUNDED» IN the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) AS A PART OF PORTRAITS OF RESILIENCE. 

En 2021,  la Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) invitó a artistas de todas las edades, de tres a noventa y nueve años, para crear ,   imaginar y reflexionar sobre nuestra resiliencia colectiva. La exhibición fue nombrada «Portraits of Resilience. 

Desde que llegué a Toronto, The Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO), es uno de  los museos que más frecuento con mi hija Amélie, con amigos, y mi esposo Chris. 

Es casi un sueño cumplido, ver mi trabajo de fotografía en esta hermosa galería.  Definitivamente, visualizar los sueños, ayuda a seguir creando con más fuerzas.

¿Qué es la resiliencia?

La resiliencia es el proceso de adaptación a la adversidad, trauma, tragedia, amenazas o fuentes significativas de estrés.

Según las palabras de la curadora: 

«Es un acto triunfal ser resiliente en medio de una pandemia, agitación social y política e incertidumbre económica y financiera. El propósito de esta iniciativa fue exhibir obras de arte de la comunidad, para la comunidad y compartir cómo hemos sido resistentes juntos durante la experiencia de la pandemia». 

«Un archivo de emoción y resiliencia, la exposición incluye fotografías, pinturas, obras de arte textil, ilustraciones, collages y esculturas, todos expresando temas de soledad, orgullo, distopía, comunidad, naturaleza y liberación creativa.»

«El  Proyecto Retratos de Resiliencia se destacó en la exposición AGO, ESTOY AQUÍ: Películas caseras y obras maestras cotidianas. Como parte de la exposición, los curadores han reunido un tributo digital al Proyecto Retratos de Resiliencia, presentando una presentación de diapositivas de las imágenes que aparecen en la galería en línea.

In 2021, the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) invited artists of all ages, from three to ninety-nine, to create, imagine and reflect on our collective resilience. The exhibit was named «Portraits of Resilience.
Since I arrived in Toronto, The Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO), is one of the museums that I visit the most with my daughter Amélie, with friends, and my husband Chris.

It is almost a dream come true, to see my photography work in this beautiful gallery. Definitely, visualizing dreams helps to continue creating with more strength.

What is resilience?

As part of the exhibition, the curators have put together a digital tribute to the Portraits of Resilience Project, presenting a slideshow of the images featured in the online gallery.
